Feeling the summer wave lately? Sweat profusely after a few minutes of wearing it outdoors. People usually pay more attention to the injuries that bouncy castles do to us like sprains, strains, and broken bones. But the lack of attention ignores the dangers to us of the heat in the inflatables. Today we will talk about this issue.

Such an experiment was conducted on the campus of the University of Georgia (UGA) in July 2015. After five hours of measurements, the researchers found that the air temperature inside the bounce house was consistently higher than ambient conditions. For a 92-degree summer in Athens, the bounce house raised the temperature by nearly 4 degrees. But bounce chamber peak temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit are almost 7 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than outside temperatures. This temperature difference is even greater when you take into account the humidity of the day and the sweating of the child.

Safety tip: Give your child water often before they complain of thirst; children should wear loose, lightweight clothing and take extra time to rest in hot weather.

So advises parents to keep an eye out for signs of overheating in their children. A more serious heat problem may be present if the child appears disoriented, dizzy or confused, and/or nauseated or vomited. In these cases, I recommend seeking medical attention.
