A lot of people would think that bouncy castles would suffocate the grass, which would kill them. But this is not true. They just flatten the grass, and if it’s only set for a day or two, the grass will recover quickly, so what exactly kills the grass?

The real cause of grass damage is high temperature, low moisture and lack of oxygen in the grass. Bouncy castles or other commercial inflatables, which are usually set up more during the summer than any other season, can exacerbate these problems if set up for too long. If you use a dark tarp, the dark color will absorb the heat from the sun more easily, eventually heating the grass to a higher temperature than it can tolerate. Also leaving the bouncy castles in the same position for an extended period of time will prevent any moisture from getting into the grass below. Low humidity combined with bounce house weight and lack of oxygen can damage your grass. If you want to protect your grass you have to avoid the above problems, what should we do

1.Choose the right tarp: Avoid black tarps in your bounce house, it is recommended that you use white and bright tarps as they reflect heat and black tarps absorb heat.

2.Water the grass after deflation: Especially in dry or hot areas, you need to water the grass under the bounce house well after removing it. Be sure to water when you notice the grass is particularly dry or discolored, usually about 5 to 10 minutes to help the grass get back on its feet and stay healthy. But if the lawn looks good, or it has been raining a lot lately, you don’t need to waste your water.

3.Choose a suitable location: Set up a bounce house on the grass, and the location is also very important. You should try to avoid placing your bounce house where the sun is always shining. You can also try placing the bounce house where the grass is healthier. This way it is more resistant to potential short-term damage to the bounce house. If you put a tarp under the bounce house, you can place the bounce house on the driveway or sidewalk. This will completely prevent them from killing your grass.
