Received an inquiry from a French customer today: Can a four-month-old child play bouncy castle? My answer is no, and today we will analyze the reasons.

Four-month-old toddlers with weak neck muscles, but the brain keeps developing and while playing on a bouncy castle, which can lead to Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) and a potential risk of injury from falls. Therefore, it is recommended to stick to gentle games when playing with young children.

Bouncy castles are generally safe, but are more suitable for children aged 6 and older, and children who cannot stand or walk independently should not use a bouncy castle. The bouncy castle is also not recommended for children over the age of 13, as older and heavier children may damage the bounce house or begin to deflate, resulting in injury. Also consider weight restrictions when using a bounce house.

I looked up some posts specifically for this issue and saw some comments like this: “Toy manufacturers may be overly cautious because if any child gets harmed by playing with their items there is a risk of being sued. I think to a large extent Depends on whether you as a parent are willing to let your children play on it (obviously supervised at that age).” Such comments can really easily mislead a lot of people, we can’t have a fluke and shirk mentality. If you don’t realize the problem until your child is injured, it will be too late by then.
